Capsimax is one of the most advanced and scientifically researched weight loss products on the market, yet most people have never heard of it. Capsimax is created by Omniactive and is not used in most fat burning products because it is cost prohibitive for most companies. Capsimax is a concentrated extract of capsaicinoids from red chilli peppers. It is extracted in a way that is safe to consume large concentrated dosages. Capsimax works by targeting 3 areas:

Metabolism is the energy needed to maintain basic body functions. It represents how much energy is expended by the body while at rest. Of all the factors influencing energy metabolism, resting energy expenditure makes up the largest – about 60–75% in sedentary people. As such, it is a major factor in energy balance and changes in weight. 


Fat cells serve as an efficient energy reserve to be mobilized when the need arises, such as during exercise. Lipolysis is the breakdown of fat stored as triglycerides in adipose tissue to free fatty acids to be used as a fuel source for contracting muscles and other tissues. Priming the lipolytic pathway, especially before exercise, may help to increase fatty acid availability for energy production and decrease fat stores


Snacking between meals is one of the biggest hurdles people face when counting calories. Conservatively, if an average snack equals 100 calories then snacking can potentially contribute almost 300 additional calories every day. Helping reduce caloric intake can help swing the energy balance equation in favor of healthy weight management.


Out of all the macronutrients, fats are the most energy-dense and the preferred storage unit for the body’s energy reserves. We have enough potential energy to travel about 500 to 1500 miles on just the energy stored in fat in the body. Fat yields twice the amount of calories than carbohydrates or protein and yields the most adenosine triphosphate(the body’s energy molecule)when metabolized for energy. Therefore, mobilizing fatty acids to support our daily activities and exercise routines is critical. There’s a unique group of compounds derived from hot peppers known as capsaicinoids that support the mobilization of fats for energy production to support our daily activities and low- to moderate-intensity exercise.


Capsaicinoids are the active components of hot peppers and are responsible for their pungency and “heat.” Among the capsaicinoids, capsaicin and dihydrocapsaicin are responsible for 90% of the total pungency of hot peppers.

Consuming large amounts of red pepper, or even supplements with high doses of capsaicinoids, can be too hot for most digestive tracts to handle. Imagine the burning sensation you get from eating a habanero pepper, one of the hottest peppers in the world. Without the proper coating, capsicum can cause considerable oral and gastric distress. Even those who work with capsicum extract are at risk. During formulation and production, airborne particles can irritate the eyes, skin, and respiratory system and may lead to cross-contamination during the formulating and manufacturing processes.

Capsimax Studies

There have been proven results that show the effectiveness of Capsimax for weight loss and fat burning. It was proven that for every 100mg of Capsimax consumed, you burn an additional 100+ calories without making changes to diet or fitness. Here are the results of the studies from OmniActive:

Body composition and Lipolysis

A randomized, placebo controlled, double-blind, cross over human clinical study explored the effects of Capsimax® on lipolysis—the breakdown of fat—and secretion of epinephrine and norephinephrine—hormones that control metabolism on both healthy and obese subjects. Twenty healthy subjects who ingested 100 mg Capsimax (2 mg capsaicinoids) showed significant increases in free fatty acids and glycerol in their blood post-ingestion and after exercise—an indicator of fat breakdown.[1] In another randomized, placebo-controlled, double-blind study, 45 obese participants were assigned to receive a supplement containing Capsimax, raspberry ketone, caffeine, garlic, ginger and citrus aurantium or a placebo. After eight weeks of daily supplementation, a calorie-restricted diet and exercise training, the group taking the Capsimax-containing supplement lost more weight, more body fat and more waist and hip girth than the placebo group. The Capsimax group also gained more lean body mass.[2]

Thermogenesis and Metabolism

In a double-blind, randomized controlled trial, Capsimax®—in combination with black pepper extract, niacin and caffeine—increased energy expenditure and oxygen consumption rate (a measure known as VO2) 50 minutes after ingestion. After exercise, VO2, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, and heart rate (in men only) were greater after supplementation at 10, 20, 30, and 50 minutes post-exercise.[1]


Energy expenditure and fat craving after supplementation with Capsimax—in combination with raspberry ketone, caffeine, garlic, ginger and citrus aurantium—in 70 obese men and women was explored in another study. Energy levels increased while fat craving decreased.[2]


To monitor Capsimax's thermogenic properties, a double-blind, randomized controlled cross-over study was conducted. Twenty-five participants were asked to exercise on treadmills on two separate occasions. On one occasion, the subjects took Capsimax Plus before exercise, and on the second occasion, they took a placebo. By assessing energy expenditure, it was found that the participants burned more calories before, during and after exercise when they had taken Capsimax Plus as compared to the placebo.[3]
